How the operation forms work

All five operation screens share one layout and the same rules. Read this page once. The other pages then only describe what is different.

Open an operation

  • Use Work in the Logistics menu, or the launcher keys: R Receive, I Issue, T Return, M Move, A Adjust / write off.
  • The routes are /logistics/operations/receive, /issue, /return, /move, and /adjust.
  • Set your Working at location first. Every line must be at that location. If no location is set, the page asks you to choose one.
  • At the top of the form the Operation switcher lists the operations you may do at this location: Receive, Issue, Return, Move, Adjust / write off. It is hidden when you may do fewer than two.

If you lack the permission, the form is locked: "You cannot do this at CODE". The system does this so no work is lost. The Receive page shows "Receive is not available to you" with the permission it needs.

The layout

  1. Alerts at the top: location problems, and banners when you started from a purchase order or part request.
  2. The Details panel: storage areas, party, reason, reference, and note. Which fields appear depends on the operation.
  3. The Lines panel: one card for each item, with a line count.
  4. A sticky footer: a live summary such as "3 lines · 12 units · to MAIN", any problem, and the submit button.

An empty form says "No lines yet: scan an item to start." On Return it says "Tick what comes back to add lines."

Add an item by scanning

  1. Click in Add item. The hint reads "Scan an item, lot or serial label, then press Enter".
  2. Scan the label, or type the code, and press Enter. A barcode scanner types the code and presses Enter for you.
  3. One match is added at once. If several records match, a list Matching records shows each with its kind: Storage area, Item, Lot, or Serial. Pick one.
  4. To search by hand, click Search items. The Find an item sheet searches by SKU, name, or an identifier such as an NSN or part number.
  5. After you pick an item, the field becomes a summary: SKU, name, a tracking badge (Quantity, Lot / batch, or Serial number), and a control class badge such as SENSITIVE. Click Clear item SKU to remove it.

Scanning the same item again adds 1 to its quantity. A scanned serial label joins that item's serial line. A serial that is already on the line is ignored. Storage area labels are not accepted in Add item.

MessageMeaning
Nothing matches “text”.No item, lot, or serial has that code at your locations.
LABEL is not linked to an item. The label exists but names no item.
Could not load the item.Try again.

Set the storage area

Each line has a From storage area and a To storage area, depending on the operation. Set the default in Details. To change one line, open Change storage areas (from X to Y) on that line.

  1. Scan the area label in Scan from storage area or Scan to storage area, or pick it in the list. The list shows only active areas that can hold stock.
  2. If the list is empty it says "No storage areas available".
MessageMeaning
LABEL is at another location, not CODE.Switch your working location or scan a local area.
LABEL is archived or not available here.Choose another area.
PATH cannot hold stock. Choose a storage area that can.The area is a group, not a bin. Pick a bin inside it.

Lots, serials, and quantities

What a line asks for depends on how the item is tracked.

Lot items, bringing stock in (Receive, and Adjust with Add stock):

  • Lot code: up to 64 characters.
  • Expiry date. The label reads Expiry date (required) when the item needs one. The format is a calendar date.

Lot items, taking stock out (Issue, Move, Adjust with Remove stock, Write off from a storage area):

  • Choose the From storage area first. The Lot list then shows lots with stock in that area, earliest expiry first. Each option reads "Lot CODE · expires DATE · QTY UNIT".
  • The lot that expires first is chosen for you and marked "Suggested (expires first) —".
  • An expired lot shows "Expired —". You cannot issue an expired lot.
  • Placeholders tell you what is missing: "Choose the From storage area first", "Loading lots…", "No lots of this item here".

Serial items:

  1. Click Serial numbers and scan each serial number. The hint reads "Scan each serial number". Enter, Tab, or leaving the field adds it.
  2. To add many, paste a list. A comma or a new line splits it.
  3. The count shows "N scanned". Click the badge's remove button to take one off.

A serial listed twice shows "SERIAL is already in the list."

Quantity items:

  • Enter Quantity. The default is 1. The unit shows below ("In unit"). If the item has several units, a Unit list appears.
  • You can use up to 4 decimal places. Otherwise the field says "Enter a number with up to 4 decimal places." An item counted in whole units refuses fractions.

Reference and note

  • Reference: optional, up to 64 characters. Use a delivery note or work order number.
  • Note: optional, up to 1000 characters. It is required for the reason Other.

Submit

  1. Check the footer summary.
  2. Click the submit button, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac). The button names the operation: Receive stock, Issue to person or unit, Return stock, Move stock, Adjust stock, or Write off stock.
  3. Pressing Enter inside a text field does not submit. A scanner's Enter cannot post by mistake.
  4. If any line holds a SENSITIVE item, a dialog asks first: Post an operation with sensitive items? with "This operation includes SENSITIVE items. Check every line before posting." Click the button to confirm.

The button stays disabled while the form posts, when there are no lines, or when your location is blocked.

If the connection fails

Each submit carries one key. If you are unsure whether it posted, submit again. The system does not post twice. The footer says: "If you are unsure whether it posted, submit again — it will not post twice."

Leaving a draft

A form with lines, a reference, or a note is a draft. If you leave the page or switch operation, the system asks first. Changing your working location clears the form.
