What this is
A shipment enters the queue when Logistics sends it with Fleet as the carrier. It leaves the queue when it is on a trip. If a trip is cancelled, its shipments return to the queue.
The list is ordered: past needed-by first, then needed today, then the longest waiting.
Before you start
You need fleet.trips.plan to open the queue. Without it you see "You cannot see" the queue.
Steps
- Open Dispatch and choose Transport queue.
- Choose a tab to narrow the list: All waiting, Past needed-by, Needed today, Waiting over N h (N is the queue limit from Fleet settings) or Papers missing.
- Search by shipment number, document or place. Filter by From, To or Needed by.
- Choose a row action:
- Fit shows the planned trips that are able to take the shipment. See below.
- New trip starts a new trip with this shipment.
- To plan several shipments on one trip, tick the rows. A bar shows the total kg, m³ and pallets. Choose New trip with these.
The shipment number opens the shipment in Logistics.
The list columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Shipment | Shipment number. A Hold overridden chip means Logistics released it with a hold overridden |
| Route | Origin and destination, and the number of lines |
| Needed by | The date. Chips: days late, or Today |
| Waiting | Time in the queue. A chip shows when it is over the queue limit |
| kg, m³, Pallets | The size of the load |
| Papers | Ready, or E-way bill when the e-way bill is required and has no number |
Fit a shipment into a trip
Fit opens a side panel with the draft and released trips that are able to take the shipment. The server ranks them by the fewest added km. Each option shows:
- The start time, the added km and the number of new stops.
- The new drop time, with In time, After needed-by or No needed-by.
- Every leg fits, or Tight: a leg is over a limit.
Choose Fit it in and review. The trip editor opens with the new pickup and drop stops. Nothing changes until you save there. If no trip fits, the panel says "No planned trip can take it" and offers New trip.
Edit papers
Choose the Papers mark to open Papers for the shipment. You need fleet.trips.plan, or inventory.transfer at the origin place.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Delivery document type and number | The paper that travels with the goods |
| E-way bill status | Required, Not required or Exempt |
| E-way bill number, validity | The number and the date and time it is valid until |
| Reason | Needed when you change a required e-way bill to Not required or Exempt |
| Weight, volume, pallets | Editable until the shipment is on the road |
The e-way bill fields appear only when the Track e-way bills setting is on. See Fleet settings.
If the shipment is on a released trip, the trip is checked again. The panel shows new warnings after you save. The driver sees the change.
Rules and limits
- If a weight change puts a leg over the vehicle payload, the server refuses the change.
- A shipment cancelled in Logistics raises an inbox item for Fleet.
- A shipment released with a hold overridden raises an inbox item.
- A shipment that waits longer than the queue limit raises an inbox item with medium priority.
If something goes wrong
| Message | Action |
|---|---|
| "The transport queue is unavailable" | Choose Try again. |
| "Say why no e-way bill is needed." | Enter a reason in the papers form. |
| "Could not find trips to fit this into." | Close the panel and try again, or start a new trip. |
