Work centres

A work centre is where operations run: one machine, a group of machines, or a manual cell.

Before you start

You need build.manage to add or change one. With build.read you can view them.

Steps

  1. Open Floor, then Work centres, and click Add work centre. To change one, open it ("Edit CODE").
  2. Enter the Code (up to 40 characters) and Name.
  3. Choose the Place. It is locked after you create the centre: "A work centre stays at its place."
  4. Choose the Kind.
  5. Tick the Machines. They are equipment registered at the place. If none exists the page says "No equipment is registered at this place."
  6. Choose the Line-side area. "Backflush draws from here."
  7. Choose the Calendar. Without one the centre counts 24 hours a day.
  8. Set Capacity counted in: machine hours or labour hours. Set Operations at once.
  9. Enter Efficiency %. For example 80 makes every operation take a quarter longer.
  10. Choose the Dispatch rule that orders the queue.
  11. When costs are visible, enter the labour and overhead rates.
  12. Click Add work centre or Save changes.
