Control and supply classes

Control classes decide which approvals apply. Supply classes decide how planning groups items.

Before you start

You need inventory.catalog.manage. Anyone with inventory.read can view them.

Control classes

Groups of items that share the same approval rules, such as general stores, controlled items, or weapons. Items get a class on their item page.

  1. Open Setup, then Control classes.
  2. Click to add one, or click Edit on a row.
  3. Enter the Code: 2 to 32 capitals, digits, or underscores, starting with a letter, for example CONTROLLED. It cannot change later.
  4. Enter the Name (up to 80 characters) and an optional Description (up to 500).
  5. Click Add class or Save class.

Each row links to its Approval rules in the approval policy. Messages: "a control class with this code already exists", "code must be 2–32 capital letters, digits or underscores, starting with a letter", "Class not created", "Class not saved".

Supply classes

Groups of items that are planned together, such as fuel, ammunition, or spare parts. Planning screens summarise stock by class.

  1. Open Setup, then Supply classes.
  2. Click to add one, or Edit a row.
  3. Enter the Code: 1 to 16 capitals, digits, or underscores, for example III or SPARE. It is fixed once created.
  4. Enter the Name (up to 80) and optional Description (up to 500).
  5. Pick a Colour and an Icon.
  6. Set the Sort order. Lower numbers are listed first. Leave it empty to place a new class last.
  7. Click Add class or Save class.

The table shows each class's item count with a link to the items. Click Archive or Restore and confirm. Use the Archived toggle to see archived classes.
